Leadership Lessons for Nonprofit Success
Leslie Crutchfield teaches Corporate Social Responsibility and Nonprofit Leadership courses at Georgetown McDonough, and her research focuses on leadership of mission-driven enterprises and how social change happens. Her executive roles at Georgetown include Executive Director of Business for Impact; Managing Director of the New Strategies for Nonprofit Leaders advanced executive program; and Co-Director of Small Business Corps. Through her teaching, research, and collaborations with colleagues across the university, Leslie aspires to create new knowledge and translate it into actionable practices that leaders can use to solve complex problems and advance the common good.

Leslie is the author of Forces for Good: The Six Practices of High-Impact Nonprofits, which explores how leaders of 12 of the most successful nonprofits founded in recent U.S. history achieved impact at scale.

What's Changing In Fundraising & How Nonprofits Should Adapt
Chad Barger helps nonprofit professionals fundraise more efficiently and effectively. He is the chief strategist and owner of the firm Productive Fundraising, which focuses on bringing actionable, research-based fundraising tactics to small and mid-sized non-profits. He is a top-rated conference speaker and webinar presenter as well as a master trainer of nonprofit boards that “don’t want to fundraise.” He teaches fundraising at both Temple University and Messiah University and is one of only 117 fundraisers in the world to achieve the Advanced Certified Fund Raising Executive (ACFRE) credential. Chad is also a strategic advisor and coach to many non-profit fundraisers, executive directors and board members.

STEPHANIE VOIGHT

Data Driven Decision Making and the Role of AI
Stephanie graduated from Dickinson College with a BS in Biology and Anthropology. She graduated with a Masters in Public Health from the University of North Carolina at Greensboro. Stephanie worked as a Fellow at the FDA’s Center for Biologics Evaluation and Research before beginning her career with WellSpan. Stephanie’s role includes responsibility for WellSpan’s Community Health Needs Assessment, Community Health Improvement Plan and Community Benefit Report as she collaborates to address emergent needs in Pennsylvania. She currently holds the role of System Director, Community Health where she has oversight of community grants and health coalitions as she collaborates to address emergent needs in Pennsylvania. Stephanie’s role includes focused attention on health equity, life expectancy and impact modeling.

Jen brings more than 25 years of comprehensive HR experience across manufacturing, healthcare, and financial services. A graduate of York College of Pennsylvania with both a BBA and MBA, she also holds the CEBS and SPHR designations. After serving as Senior Vice President and Director of Human Resources for PeoplesBank, she founded Strategic HCM LLC, where she supports small and mid‑sized businesses and nonprofits in building effective, people‑centered HR practices. Jen is an active community volunteer, including long‑standing service with the York College Community Opportunity Scholarship Program and the PeoplesBank Charitable Foundation.

EMILY FOX, MSW
Coordinator, Shippensburg Community Resource Coalition
Fostering and Fueling Youth Engagement in Your Mission
Emily Fox, MSW is the Coordinator for the Shippensburg Community Resource Coalition. Emily leads coalition efforts, oversees program operations, and supervises field internships through Shippensburg University. She works closely with the SCRC’s Youth Mobilizer and Youth Advisory Council. Emily completed her Master's in Social Work in macro practice through Boston University. She has a background in community-building and nonprofit leadership in food and economic justice, as well as HIV social work.

IDEALIA ROBINSON-CONFER
Jr. Associate, Framework Strategies
Centering Lived Experience: A 101 Guide to Inclusive Governance and Impact
Idelia Robinson-Confer (She/Her) currently serves as a Junior Associate at Framework Strategies, where she supports youth-and young adult-focused grants and provides technical assistance and data support to strengthen community housing and homelessness initiatives.
Prior to joining Framework, Idelia worked in the nonprofit sector, where she developed curriculum and launched a program supporting transition-age youth with foster care experience in advocacy and professional development. She also worked on Capitol Hill, where she contributed to policy recommendations aimed at strengthening the foster care system. Additionally, her advocacy and consulting work spans youth and young adult issues, including homelessness, child welfare, mental health, education, and employment pathways. In these roles, she has supported communities through research, policy development, and the delivery of training and technical assistance.

Idelia serves on the Pennsylvania Governor’s Interagency Council on Homelessness and is a passionate advocate for children and families, utilizing her professional achievements and lived experience to drive positive change. She holds a Master of Public Administration with a concentration in Policy Research and Analysis from the University of Pittsburgh and a B.S. in Psychology from California University of Pennsylvania. In her free time, Idelia enjoys spin classes, trying new coffee shops, and traveling!

JENNIFER PEDRONI

Jennifer has more than 25 years of experience in the philanthropic sector. She has developed a proficiency in grants and financial management through her work at Annenberg Foundation, a large family foundation with a national grantmaking portfolio, as well as HealthSpark Foundation, a private foundation in Philadelphia with a place-based focus. Her broad-based background includes direct responsibilities in staff operations, finance, budget, grants management, information systems, human resources, and facilities. Jennifer holds a B.A. in Accounting from Temple University and an M.S. in Organizational Development and Leadership from the Philadelphia College of Osteopathic Medicine.

OTTO MONROY

Otto has dedicated the majority of his career to work that empowers children to thrive, particularly those impacted by poverty. He serves as the Chief Revenue Officer at Logos Academy and as President of the related social enterprise, LogosWorks Partners. Previously, Otto earned a BA in Music and an MBA from Messiah University. He is also a Certified Fundraising Executive (CFRE) and an AFP master trainer.
As an experienced and respected community leader, Otto works to convene people and ideas that promote lasting community impact. He is particularly versed in social enterprise, change management, organizational design, and non-profit revenue and finance.
Otto is a lifelong musician and soccer enthusiast who lives in Dillsburg, PA, on five acres with his wife Erin and four children, Orianna, Xavi, Olivia, and Andi, plus an ever-changing mix of animals.

ELLEN MIN
Associate Director for Student Access & Achievement, Dickinson College

Ellen Min (she/her) resides in Harrisburg city with her husband Sten, daughters Aida & Elyse, and Mochi the dog. As a second-generation, Korean American woman, her intersectional identities are the foundation of her leadership in education, equity, and the community.
Originally from the city of Philadelphia, she found her way to Central Pennsylvania through her studies at Dickinson College, earning a Bachelor of Arts in English and a Secondary Education Teaching Certification. She went on to receive her Master of Arts in Humanities and Educational Leadership Certification from Penn State University. Ellen had a nearly twenty year career in education as a high school English teacher and then a school leader, and served as an equity practitioner for a school and then Chief Equity Office for a non-profit organization. She is currently at Dickinson College as the Associate Director for Student Access & Achievement.
Ellen’s passion extends to her community and is actively engaged in building inclusive spaces of belonging. She served on the board of Leadership Harrisburg Area, Diversity and Inclusion Professionals of Central PA, PA Immigrant and Refugee Women’s Network, and the Central PA Korean Association. Ellen founded HAAPI (Harrisburg Asian American Pacific Islanders) in 2021 and chaired HAAPI until 2025. Ellen has also been appointed to serve as a Commissioner on the Governor’s Advisory Commission on Women, where she advocates for policies that support and empower women across the state.

The Center for Youth and Community Development is the home of Collaborating for Youth (CFY), a youth-driven coalition based in Adams County dedicated to developing the positive potential of youth within safe, supportive families and communities. The coalition gives young people a direct platform to connect, lead, and create change, empowering young people to provide their voice to community initiatives. The Center coordinates prevention initiatives, youth programs, community partnerships, and educational efforts aimed at reducing risks facing young people and promoting healthy lifestyles. CFY brings together more than 25 partner organizations and volunteers to support youth leadership, data‑driven youth development, family engagement, and community well‑being. The coalition incorporates youth directly in community health efforts, ensuring youth are not just participants, but leaders shaping solutions that support the community and reduce risks facing area youth.

HEIDI WITMER

Heidi Witmer is the founder and Executive Director of LEAF, where she works at the intersection of youth leadership, agriculture, and community resilience. Raised in a farming family, Heidi believes deeply in meaningful work, shared responsibility, and learning by doing. She lives on the LEAF Farm in Perry County with her husband, Shane, two rambunctious kids, and the best farm dog there ever was, Poppy.

CIARRA JOHNSON
Interim Executive Director, Housing Coalition of Western PA /Associate, Framework Strategies
Centering Lived Experience: A 101 Guide to Inclusive Governance and Impact
Ciarra Johnson is a systems coordination expert who believes that communities inherently possess the wisdom and solutions needed to support themselves. Since 2016, she has been a driving force in the Western PA Continuum of Care (CoC), serving as its first staff member and growing the collaborative into a model for mission-driven impact.

In her dual roles as the Interim Executive Director of the Housing Coalition of Western PA and an Associate at Framework Strategies, Ciarra works with organizations to move beyond traditional feedback loops toward truly inclusive governance. Her work centers on human-centered design and strategic change management, helping nonprofits interrogate their internal processes to create equitable pathways for Persons with Lived Experience and Expertise (PWLEE). By focusing on practical barrier removal and trauma-informed engagement, she assists organizations across all sectors in building leadership structures that are both resilient and authentically representative of the communities they serve.

Ciarra holds a Master of Arts in Counseling Psychology and has a professional background in providing therapeutic services to youth and young adults. Outside of work, she is an adventurer and gardener who enjoys backpacking, overly competitive board game nights with friends and family, and spending time with her partner and dog, Gilbert. She envisions a world where power is shared, curiosity precedes judgment, and every individual has access to both housing and healing.

ROBERT REILLY
Vice President and Government Relations Officer, WellSpan

Robert Reilly serves as Vice President and Government Relations Officer for WellSpan Health - an integrated delivery system focused on leading in value-based care and serving the communities of central Pennsylvania and northern Maryland - where he implements government relations and legislative affairs strategies across all systems of care.

Bob previously served as Deputy Chief of Staff to former U.S. Congressman Todd Platts, who served from 2000-2012, and U.S. Congressman Scott Perry from 2012-2018.

Bob has received numerous awards for his government and community service in Central Pennsylvania. Most recently, the American Hospital Association (AHA) named him Pennsylvania’s 2025 Grassroots Champion of the Year; City & State Pennsylvania named him one of the top 100 Government Relations officials in both 2025 and 2024. And he was named to the Central Penn Business Journal’s 2025 and 2023 Lobbyist Power List.
Bob is an active community volunteer and has held leadership roles with countless community organizations. He was recently named to the transition committee for PA Attorney General David Sunday. He serves on the advocacy committee of Premier, Inc. a leading national healthcare improvement company; legislative committees with the Greater Chambersburg Chamber of Commerce, the Carlisle Area Chamber of Commerce and the Lancaster Chamber of Commerce; and he is actively engaged with the AHA and the Hospital/Healthsystem Association of Pennsylvania.

BECK MOORE
CEO, Community Action Association of Pennsylvania

Beck Moore is the CEO of the Community Action Association of Pennsylvania (CAAP), leading a network of 43 Community Action Agencies dedicated to addressing poverty and its root causes across the Commonwealth. With over 20 years of leadership in the nonprofit sector, Beck is committed to values-based leadership, advocacy, and empowering organizations to drive meaningful change. A specialist in member-based organizations, Beck has a proven track record in membership growth and program development. His work in innovative initiatives within youth-serving organizations earned national recognition. Passionate about the health factors and social connections, Beck frequently educates on workplace culture, challenging assumptions, and the intersection of identity, geography, and health in the context of poverty. Beck holds a bachelor's degree in Secondary Education from Penn State University and a master's degree in Human Resources from the University of Scranton. Actively engaged in state and national leadership, he serves on multiple boards and committees, including the Governor’s Advisory Commission on LGBTQ Affairs, United Way of Pennsylvania, and The Foundation for Enhancing Communities. Beyond his professional work, Beck enjoys fishing, camping, reading, and writing. He treasures time spent with his wife, their two young children, and their three lively dogs. He hopes one day to publish a book, sharing his personal journey of overcoming trauma and embracing authenticity to inspire others on their path to healing.

HATTIE B. McCARTER

Hattie B. McCarter (also known as Hattie B.) is a passionate advocate for equity and inclusion, with over 17 years dedicated to dismantling systemic barriers and fostering belonging. Hailing from Enterprise, Alabama, she brings the warmth and resilience of her roots into every space she enters. After earning her master’s in Rehabilitation Counseling from Alabama State University, Hattie embarked on a mission to transform
workplaces, starting at the Office of Vocational Rehabilitation, where she championed DEI and recruitment efforts for over a decade as a Vocational Rehabilitation Counselor and VR Specialist in Diversity and Recruitment.
In 2023, driven by a deep commitment to justice and humanity, Hattie founded MEND Solutions, LLC, a consulting firm devoted to weaving equity into the fabric of organizational culture. Her work is guided by the belief that true leadership begins with compassionate listening and courageous action.
Recognized as a Trendsetter and Trailblazer by Penn Live and honored with the DEI Trailblazer Award by The National Coalition of 100 Black Women, Inc., Hattie’s
journey is a testament to the power of purpose. She lives by Shirley Chisholm's words: “If you don’t have a seat at the table, bring a folding chair,” and she’s committed to ensuring that everyone has a place at the table.
